We’ve started a recycling and reuse scheme collecting unwanted working tech and broken hard plastic toys with Wastebuster (www.wastebuster.co.uk) to get books for our school!

The scheme is designed to divert tech and toy waste from landfill, reduce carbon emissions and help improve children’s literacy.

 

We are excited to be a part of this scheme and hope you will support us by giving your tech and broken, hard plastic toys a new lease of life and help us promote care for the environment.

What we are collecting:

TOYS TOYS
• Broken or marked hard plastic toys •No electronic toys
•1 toy per child (to give as many children as possible the opportunity to know their toys are becoming new things!) •No plushies
•No bigger than a children's shoe box •No clothing/ accessories
•Small metal parts are fine (like in toy cars) •No inflatable plastic/ PVC items (e.g. beach balls)
SWAP + POP For unwanted toys that are in good condition, please help your children to: SWAP (give their unwanted toys to friends or family) or POP (them into charity shops) •No packaging (boxes or bags)
•No batteries, cables or solar panels
TECH
Working items only please TECH
• Mobile Phones* No broken items thank you
•Tablets* •No leads without a device
•MP3 Players •Please remove any batteries unless they're part of the device (e.g. a mobile phone battery)
•Wireless Speakers •No device boxes/ packaging
•Digital SLR/ Bridge Cameras
•Wearable Tech (e.g. Smart Watches, Fitness Devices and Wireless Headphones)
All can be accepted with or without chargers and cables
Please package your items to protect them and keep parts or accessories like chargers
*We accept cracked screens if the item is still working

Don’t forget to back up, factory reset, and data wipe your tech.

Wastebusters reuse partners, will also check your devices have had all data removed before they are sent for reuse or recycling.
Please leave them unlocked so we can do this. Locked items cannot be reused!

Ask your teacher or bring items to reception to find out where our collection boxes are.
