Dear Parents,

I would like to give a warm welcome to Miss Taylor who is currently supporting in Early Years and to our new kitchen staff, Devon and Julie. The new staff will be starting with us over the next few weeks due to their current job commitments.

You will have seen that we have launched a new lunchtime menu, this is proving very popular with the children. As we are no longer tied into Dudley Catering, we have more autonomy on what we serve to the children and will also make sure we continue to listen to the children’s feedback..

The new manager will be responsible for ordering food, creating menus and monitoring the orders. During the last week, the school office has made over 30 phone calls to parents to remind them to book lunches for their child/children in addition to the text messages that were sent out as reminders. We do not agree with food waste and to ensure unnecessary waste we need bookings to be made. From Monday 24th January, we will be contacting parents to bring a lunch into school if a lunch booking hasn’t been made.

Living Life in all its Fullness

Over the last two years, Lydia in year 4 has been growing her hair for The Little Princess Trust. The Little Princess Trust provides free, real-hair wigs for young cancer sufferers or for children and young people experiencing the devastating effects of hair loss. On Tuesday of this week, she had over 12 inches cut off to donate to the charity.

This is the second time Lydia has donated to this charity, truly living out St Margaret’s values. Amazing Lydia!

After School Clubs at St Margaret's

Multi Sports After-School Clubs started last week and there are still spaces available, so it isn’t too late to attend. Contact the school office for further information or go to the letters section on the website.

Something new and different is starting after school at St Margaret’s school. Starting next week is a 12 week Art Club delivered by ‘The Craft House,’ an independent organisation who have requested the use of our rooms. Activities your child will be involved include; drawing, water colour painting, modelling, fused glass, glass painting and much more! A letter was sent out 19th January containing all the information that you need to book.

Parent Consultations

We are planning to hold face to face parent consultations this term. I feel in order to support your child, it is really important to know how your child is getting on in school and although we have continued to hold parent consultations in all honesty, it isn’t quite the same as face to face is it?

Below are the dates and times. Instructions on how to book will be sent out soon.
